Office Position: Registered Dental Hygienist
Responsibilities:
- Oral hygiene & reviews medical history, evaluates your mouth for tooth and gum tissue diseases (consults with Dr. Grace), offers the standard care for any type disease that is present
- Distributes oral hygiene aids to help eliminate disease (toothbrushes, floss), administers fluoride, & antibacterial solutions
- Monitors your dental health at subsequent office visits & may recommend frequency change
- Uses high tech instruments to help treat gum (periodontal) disease and sonic cleaners that carry medicine to the deep gum pockets
- Schedule control - will make needed appointments for you to see the doctor or the hygienist
- Volunteers in the Spencer School system every February to educate elementary students on dental health; and participates every Spring at Quinsigamond Community College at the Kid Seal program.
- Maintains proper continuing education requirements as dictated by the Massachusetts Dental Hygiene Society
