Office Position: Registered Dental Hygienist, since 1992
Responsibilities:
- Oral hygiene & reviews medical history, evaluates your mouth for tooth and gum tissue diseases (consults with Dr. Grace), offers the standard care for any type disease that is present
- Distributes oral hygiene aids to help eliminate disease (toothbrushes, floss), administers fluoride & antibacterial solutions
- Monitors your dental health at subsequent office visits & may recommend frequency change
- Uses high tech instruments to help treat gum (periodontal) disease and sonic cleaners that carry medicine to the deep gum pockets
- Schedule control & will make needed appointments for you to see the doctor or the hygienist
- HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) officer for our office & will be sure our office is following standards to protect your privacy as it relates to any information found in your chart or on our computers
- Orders supplies for the dental hygiene division in the office
- Maintains proper continuing education requirements as dictated by the Massachusetts Dental Hygiene Society
- Coordinates on-site visits to schools during Dental Awareness Month, February
