WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT

  Our dental assistant will discuss/review your completed forms and address any questions you may have.

  REVIEW MEDICAL HISTORY
  Current medications may complicate some dental procedures; heart murmurs and joint prosthesis - some types require   antibiotic prior to dental treatment; blood pressure screening (if needed).

  PERIODONTAL STATUS
  Gum and bone tissue evaluated for disease or infection; gum and bone measured to ascertain if gum disease is present; a   course of treatment will be recommended to treat the type of infection noted.

  ORTHODONTIC STATUS
  Teeth and jaw relationship noted; TM joint evaluated for dysfunction.

  REVIEW DENTAL HISTORY
  The chief oral complaint is discussed and evaluate any concerns or problems in the oral cavity.

  ORAL CANCER SCREENING
  Check oral tissues for any sign of malignancy, lesions, etc.

  CREATE A TREATMENT PLAN
  Needed dental treatment is explained; the proper sequence of treatment is scheduled; fees for treatment are discussed; a   written treatment plan will be given to the patient.
